March 08 2008

February 15 - February 16 2008

Arrival: 9:00am Newhaven Riverside
Subjects: Harwoody, Craig & Nathan
Report: Nothing caught until dark and still it was only small rockling and pout. Nathan brought in a whiting the size of a mobile phone but nothing worth shouting about. Come 5:00am the next day we called it off... -4degrees was too much for us, we couldnt hack it.

February 09 2008

Arrival: Newhaven East Arm 4:30am
Subjects: Harwoody -later joined by Craig, Nathan, Tony and Jake.
Report: Very little, Harwoody was there for 13 hours and only caught 3 fish. Dab, Rockling and Pouting. Others caught the same. However a Crayfish was captured using the Bait Net.

February 12 2008

Arrival: Tidemills Beach 3:10am
Subjects: Harwoody & Alex - addition of Laura
Report: We arrived and set up in the dark and for 5 hours all we caught was a whiting and a few rockling. Come 9:00 we decided it was time to move on and we walked a mile to the East Pier with all our equipment. Once we reached our number one fishing location we were catching almost non stop. Whiting, Pouting and Rockling.  Come 5:00pm Alex landed a reasonably sized Flounder of which we kept and gutted. We headed off home once we ran out of bait at 7:30.

January 20 2008

Arrival: Newhaven East Arm 8:30
Subjects: Harwoody, Craig and Nathan, Jack.
Report: We used Lugworm, rag, squid, sandeel and mackerel. It paid off. Together we hauled up several rather large whiting, possibly up to 2lb. Loads of pout and the odd rockling. I  know its nothing to celebrate about but we enjoyed.

January 02 2008

Arrival: Newhaven Beach Car Park 7:45
Subjects: Harwoody, Craig and Nathan
Report: Using a Live Bait Net we seemed to be bringing in endless rockling, the odd shrimp and a crab. However, we found fishing poor. The only thing that took the bait was rockling and 1 whiting. I put it down to the bait as the tackle shop only had frozen and we usually fish fresh.
